MONOTYPE AND INTAGLIO PRINTMAKING

Course Description

Printmaking is a dynamic medium that has its own histories as well as relationships with drawing and photography.  In this low-tech. workshop a foundation in monotype and intaglio printmaking processes will be established before exploring SolarPlate photo- polymer plates, ImageOn photo-polymer film and toner based transfer and printmaking processes.   These contemporary processes build on the traditional and contribute the ability to bring information from drawn or photographic sources to printmaking matrixes.   

Instructor
Mark Ritchie received a B.F.A. degree (1986) at Kansas University and earned an M.F.A. degree (1990) at Indiana University. Mark is assistant professor of art and teaches printmaking in the University of Wyoming Department of Art.. His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums across the nation. He is the recipient of a Wyoming Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowship and several awards for works featured in print exhibitions.
