ARCHITECTURAL CERAMICS
Donna Rozman
Course Description
In this fun and stimulating workshop, the focus will be tin-glazed earthenware, commonly known as majolica. This low-fire ceramic technique is achieved by applying a white, opaque glaze to bisque ware then color is added on top of the raw glaze surface before the final firing. Donna shares her extensive knowledge of majolica through demos and hands on participation. The first portion of this workshop will concentrate on clay work, the final day will focus on surface decoration, color, and design. Participants gain an awareness of the intricacies and diversity of this technique through insights Donna has gleaned from travel to Italy, Mexico, and Hungary.
